Interleague play has always been one of my favorite baseball betting opportunities of the season, and tonight’s card is especially attractive. We’ll take a look in this post at another marquee matchup as the Boston Red Sox head south to take on the Philadelphia Phillies. And we’ve got a canine Red Sox fan picture for the occasion–he looks like he’s upset that he had to stop chewing on his rawhide ‘Bill Buckner’s Leg’ toy to look up at the camera.
BOSTON RED SOX VS. PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES:
Baseball betting, Interleague style tonight. As someone who had a wager on the Cincinnati Reds yesterday as they managed to blow an 8-0 lead to the Atlanta Braves, losing in the bottom of the 9th as Francisco Cordero served up the grand slam ball to .167 hitting Brooks Conrad I’m doing well to even be here today. It did make the Toronto Blue Jays 9th inning collapse against the Seattle Mariners easier to swallow at least. That’s baseball betting, however, and you’ve just got to shake off nasty beats like that and keep on going. Today instead of a baseball dog we’ve got a surfing dog and a Jack Russell Terrier no less. You may think he’s cute and all but he’s one of a crew of ‘locals only’ surf terriers at Sunset Cliffs that’ll beat down a dog from the valley without hesitation if he should try to take their spot.
Though I’ve never been charged with any robberies myself (implicated, though never charged) I’m a sucker for a good heist film. In particular, I like ones where the criminals are smart. Some heist films have desperate people doing desperate things, but I get enough of that just looking out my window here in Portland. Some of my favorites are ‘Point Break’ where the late Patrick Swayze and his band of surfers called ‘The Ex Presidents’ have bank robbery down to a science. And there’s the whole ‘Oceans 11′ series–the original with Frank Sinatra is entertaining as hell, but as a heist film the recent trilogy by Steven Soderbergh is hard to beat.
More baseball betting on Thursday with a number of daytime games. There’s nothing I love more than daytime baseball betting. You haven’t lived until you’ve hung out in a Las Vegas sportsbook knocking back a cold one sweating out a totals play while the rest of the world is at work. Anyway we’re back in the Jet City for an afternoon game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners. Blue Jays won the first game of the series, and are now one game behind the Yankees for second place in the AL East. They’re still 5 games behind the Tampa Bay Rays, who have the best record in baseball. We’ve found another Blue Jays dog for today–he’s out at the ballpark for ‘Dog Day’ but he looks like he’s trying to find a spot to take a nap. This game goes at 12:40 PM Pacific, so it’ll be a perfect time for a nap.
