Reunited and it feels so good?
Just when we thought we were done hearing about Allen Iverson, we’re hit with this news: the old school guard is probably going to sign a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. The team put the non-guaranteed offer on the table on Tuesday, according to an anonymous source familiar with the negotiations.
After no other team expressed any interest in signing the four-time scoring champion, Iverson announced his retirement last week. The 10-time All-Star, who was named MVP in 2001 when he led the Sixers to the NBA Finals, lasted all of three games with the Memphis Grizzlies this season before the two sides agreed to part ways.
The 5-13 Sixers sucked seven straight losses entering Wednesday night’s game at Oklahoma City and could probably use a name like Iverson to sell some seats and maybe even increase their playoff hopes.
More on this as No. 3′s world turns.
