Alabama Loses Running Back to the Draft

The Alabama Crimson Tide, following their 42 point beat down of Michigan State found out they would be losing the 2009 Heisman award winner Mark Ingram. Ingram announced his intentions to join the 2011 NFL draft.

Wide receiver Julio Jones is expected to join Ingram in the draft, as well as defensive end Marcell Dareus. After winning the Heisman, Ingram got off to a rough start, getting injured in pre-season practice. He missed the first two games and was replaced by Trent Richardson. Ingram came back and finished with over 800 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Crimson Tide finished the season 10-3 with losses to Auburn, Arkansas and South Carolina. Nick Saban, the Crimson Tide head coach will also have to deal with losing quarterback Greg McElroy, as he finished his four year career for the Roll Tide.
