With the NFL regular season fast approaching, we at SportsUntapped are taking our crystal balls out of storage and examining each team’s full 16-game schedule to prognosticate how the 2012 season will play out. We’ll look at all 32 teams and reveal each one’s final record. Next up: Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks, who’ll try to avoid a fifth straight losing season in the Pacific Northwest.

Last year’s record: 7-9

Vegas Over/Under on 2012 Regular Season Wins: 7

First four games:

Sep 9 @Arizona 4:25 pm
Sep 16 Dallas 4:05 pm
Sep 24 Green Bay 8:30 pm
Sep 30 @St. Louis 1:00 pm

Russell Wilson has been named the Seahawks Week 1 starter, but he might not last long if Seattle can’t win its opener in Arizona. The Cardinals have their own quarterback problems but were 6-2 at home last year. I see a 1-3 start for the Seahawks.

Second four games:

Oct 7 @Carolina 4:05 pm
Oct 14 New England 4:05 pm
Oct 18 @San Francisco 8:20 pm
Oct 28 @Detroit 1:00 pm

This is a pretty brutal stretch with three road games and three games against teams that won 10 or more games last season. The Seahawks lose another three games and are just 2-6 halfway through the year.

First four games of the second half:

Nov 4 Minnesota 4:05 pm
Nov 11 N.Y. Jets 4:05 pm
Week 11 BYE
Nov 25 @Miami 1:00 pm
Dec 2 @Chicago 1:00 pm

Things get a little bit easier here and with the help of the bye, the Seahawks will go on a late run and win three of four to get to 5-7 heading down the stretch.

Last four games:

Dec 9 Arizona 4:25 pm
Dec 16 @Buffalo (Toronto, Ont.) 4:05 pm
Dec 23 San Francisco 4:25 pm
Dec 30 St. Louis 4:25 pm

Finishing with three of four at home, the Seahawks might again get on the outer edges of the race for the final wild card spot, but they’ll lose two more games for a third straight 7-9 season.
