Preview: The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders will take on the Miami (OH) Redhawks on Thursday January 6th. This game will be played in the GoDaddy.com Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.

Middle Tennessee State finished the season with a 6-6 record. The Blue Raiders were forced to win their final three games to become bowl eligible. In the Sun Belt Conference; the Blue Raiders finished third behind Florida International and Troy. On the season, the Blue Raiders allowed opponents 40 touchdowns, while the offense was able to score 38. Dwight Dasher, the MTST quarterback threw for a season high 244 yards in the season finale win over Florida International. Dasher, last season set a New Orleans Bowl record for four rushing touchdowns and 201 yards in the win over Southern Miss. The Blue Raiders are 1-1 all time in bowl games.

The Redhawks of Miami are playing in their 10th bowl game in school history. Miami has won six of nine so far. The Redhawks won the East Division of the MAC Conference and then went and upset the Northern Illinois Huskies in the MAC title game. The Redhawks won their final five games of the season. Miami Ohio stated the season 2-2 with losses at Florida and Missouri. Their other two losses this season came to Cincinnati and Ohio. The Redhawks went 1-11 last season in the first year under head coach Michael Haywood. Haywood will not coach in this game, as he was hired to replace Dave Wannstedt at Pittsburgh. In the MAC title game, quarterback Austin Boucher threw for a career high 333 yards and a touchdown.
