Preview: The North Carolina Tar Heels will play in a bowl game that will essentially be seen as a road game. The Tar Heels will take on the Tennessee Volunteers in Nashville, as part of the Music City Bowl.

The Tar Heels come into the game with a 7-5 record. North Carolina lost two of their last three games; to Virginia Tech and North Carolina State to end the regular season. The Tar Heels finished tied in third in the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference. North Carolina started the season with several key players missing, and they lost for first two games of the season. The Tar Heels quarterback T.J. Yates finished the season with a 67.6 completion ratio, which ranked 7th in the country.

The Volunteers are thrilled to be playing an additional game during the season. After the 2-6 start, the Volunteers won their final four games, including wins over Memphis, Mississippi, Vanderbilt and Kentucky. The Volunteers are playing freshman quarterback Tyler Bray, who replaced Matt Simms. Bray threw for 12 touchdowns in the final four games of the season. Also during the winning streak, running back Tauren Poole rushed for 91.5 yards per game and scored 5 touchdowns. Tennessee and North Carolina have not played each other in football since the 1961. In the 31 times they have played, the Volunteers have won 20 of them.

My Betting Picks: Tennessee is going to stay hot. Volunteers win 21-17.
