If you’re a college basketball betting junkie, then you are in heaven right now. The 2010 field of 64 is set. In a few weeks time, some lucky team will be cutting the nets and hoisting the trophy as this year’s NCAA champions. Who will it be? If I knew that, I sure as hell wouldn’t tell you. I’d tell my bookie.
Nevertheless, the following cagers will have a lot to say about how deep their respective teams advance in the tourney. Here are ten to watch. I bet they will do good for for props sports betting as well.
10. Kyle Singler, F (Duke) – Singler joins the likes of Danny Ferry, Christian Laettner, Shane Battier and JJ Redick as the latest Dukie most fans love to hate. The Blue Devils have struggled mightily in recent years during March. Singler’s versatility and leadership will loom large if #1 seed Duke wants to earn a trip to Indianapolis.
9. LaceDarius Dunn, G (Baylor) – Dunn is the offensive catalyst for the surprising Bears. His long-range shooting is some of the most feared in the country. A #3 seed in the South Region, Baylor’s chances to continue its remarkable run may hinge on Dunn’s scoring.
8. Luke Harangody, F (Notre Dame) – The senior forward dominated the Big East averaging a near double-double in points and rebounds (22.4/9.2). He eclipsed 30 points five times this season and is capable of taking over a game. Harangody has the experience and skills to take the Irish far.
7. Ryan Wittman, F (Cornell) – Don’t sleep on the Ivy League. Wittman has big game talent as evidenced by the 24 points he hung on Kansas in a 71-66 loss in early January. He scored in double figures in all but one game. If you’re searching for a Cinderella, take a look at Wittman’s Big Red.
6. Scottie Reynolds, G (Villanova) – Reynolds came back for his senior season after flirting with the NBA and didn’t disappoint. He’s been to the Final Four before, so he knows how to lead. If he gets hot, lookout for the Cats. The South Region is up for grabs.
5. Andy Rautins, G (Syracuse) – Rautins’ game is all about defense and distribution. He often sets the tone on both ends of the floor. If he can find his shot and drop some threes the ‘Cuse could be unstoppable in the West Region. He’s not flashy, but his work ethic is second to none.
4. Cole Aldrich, C (Kansas) – The big man is an absolute beast in the paint. His rebounds and blocks were key to the Jayhawks’ dominance this year. Now this is perfect from a sportsbook perspective. Very few low post players have his combination of size and strength. He also displays nice touch with his mid-range jump shot.
3. Greg Monroe, C (Georgetown) – There isn’t much this sophomore stud can’t do. His low post moves are impressive, as is his fierce play on the glass and his touch passing. He’s a do-it-all kind of player who can draw double-teams, then kick it out to open shooters.
2. Evan Turner, G/F (Ohio State) – Turner might be the best player in the country. He’s the total package and a one-man gang for the Buckeyes and sports betting. If you can take him away, Ohio State is very beatable. However, eliminating Turner entirely is easier said than done.
1. John Wall, G (Kentucky) – If Turner isn’t the nation’s best, then it would be this freshman sensation. Wall possesses rare skills and will undoubtedly enter the NBA draft once the season ends. Can he pull a Carmelo Anthony and lead his team to the title? Don’t bet against him.

Da’Sean Butler anyone? Top 10 lists are for idiots.
Wes Johnson of Cuse and DeMarcus Cousins of Kentucky should be on the list with Butler.
Darington Hobson?
Jimmer Fredette?
What a stupid list.
i agree, how did butler get kept off the list?
Anthony Johnson from Montana. Probably the best player at the mid-major level.
Da’Sean Butler not on this list makes it completely worthless.
Aubrey Coleman, the nation’s leading scorer, should be on the list.
A Baylor player that wasn’t in the top 3 in the Big 12 MVP race? OkState’s James Anderson will go well before most of these guys in the draft.
